Quick Tip: Move a transaction to another account

Have you ever manually entered a transaction into the wrong account? I typically use Direct Import but occasionally I enter a transaction manually. One reason I prefer Direct Import is to avoid entry errors, which I seem to inevitably make.

One of those entry errors is entering a transaction into the wrong account. For example, I might mistakenly enter an Amazon purchase for Bullet Journal supplies in my Discover card account screen when the card I used was actually my Chase Ink card. Until I discovered this trick, when that happened I would delete the erroneous entry and re-enter it into the appropriate account. Good news: that’s not necessary.

You can use Move to Account to move a transaction (or more than one transaction!).

Just select the transaction(s), then in the little floating bar, select More and in the drop down menu select Move to Account. You’ll get a pop-up of all your accounts and you select the appropriate one. It’s that easy!

Here’s a screenshot.

I hope you love learning these little tricks as much as I do!
